American Airlines has “Basic Economy” round-trip flights from New York (EWR) to Los Angeles (LAX) starting at $132, NONSTOP. $66 each-way. Flights January to mid-April. A few weekends available. Origin/Destination is reversible.
Note: “Basic Economy” fares do not include a free carry-on bag. Only a personal item (like a small-backpack) is free. Checked bags cost +$25 each-way. Seats are randomly assigned prior to boarding. If you have an AAdvantage credit-card you can avoid bag fees.

Flights late-November to February, mostly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Saturdays. There are very few Friday/Sunday departures. Origin/Destination reversible. Holiday blackouts apply.
Note: Flying out of Chicago (ORD/MDW) is usually cheaper than flying out of Milwaukee (MKE) be sure to check alternative airports before committing to a purchase.
