Chase has increased the sign-up bonus to 120,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $8,000 in the first 3-months of being approved for the card. This is an increase of +20,000 points when compared to the previous offer. This is the highest sign-up offer we’ve seen for this card so-far.

Flying Blue is the combined points program of KLM and Air France. At the start of each month they discount select routes. This month, Houston long-haul economy flights to Paris are -10,000 cheaper due to this discount. It’s a good idea to check the promo landing page at the start of each month to see if anything worthwhile pops up.

This time, Air France and KLM have round-trip flights from Denver or Atlanta (DEN, ATL) to Paris or Amsterdam (CDG, AMS) for 30,000 points + $246-$301 tax/fees, NONSTOP or with a connection. Fare allows for carry-on bag and seat selection. Promotional ends 07/31/2024. Flights between August and December 30, 2024. Promo awards are non-refundable, no changes.

A few notes about this deal: The Flying Blue website is a janky mess. Sometimes you’ll see a date on the fare calendar, but when you pull up the details for that date, the discount isn’t there. It’s hit and miss. In the past, the way to pull up a working calendar on Flying Blue was to leave the dates blank; this doesn’t work anymore. Instead, we were able to pull up a working calendar by selecting the LAST DAY (June 30, 2025) for our search.

Taxes/Fees on FlyingBlue redemptions are excessive and are now $50 more than they were last year. You should value your points at about 0.01 to 0.015 cents each. Then do the math to come up with whether or not it’s a good use. In this case, Nonstop CDG on Air France for $546 is pretty-good, but if you can convert your miles at a greater value elsewhere, then maybe it’s not worth it to you.

These new offers are 10,000 more than what they were previously last month. Of these offerings, we think that the United Explorer Card has the best perk to annual fee ratio because we find a lot of value in being able to use it to book on United Basic Economy and get the free first bag perk with priority boarding. Those two perks alone negate a lot of the downside to basic economy.

Chase has increased the sign-up bonus for the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card and the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card to 85,000 points. Bonus will post to your account after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

Our notes: This is the highest point offering we’ve seen for this card. Previous high was 75,000 last December. As for other offers, it seems that every February there is an offer that includes a companion pass + about 30,000 points. The companion pass offer may be better than this one, depending on how much you’re able to use it.

Amex has recently increased the welcome offer for the Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card to 5 Free Night Awards after spending $8,000 in the first 6-months of card membership. The previous offer was 3 nights. Each bonus Free Night Award has a max redemption value of 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points. Which means that if you maximize where you stay, this welcome bonus is equivalent to 250,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points. Resort fees & terms apply.

This card has an annual fee of $125 so we can only recommend this card if you’re a Marriott loyalist that can utilize the card perks enough to offset the annual fee.

Chase has increased the sign-up bonus for both the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card the new sign-up bonus is now 75,000 after spending $4,000 in the first 3-months of being approved for the card. The previous offer was 60,000. The Sapphire line of cards allow you to transfer points into various hotel and airline point programs. In our opinion, these are two of the best card to hold as a traveler. I personally use Ultimate Rewards points to transfer into Hyatt and United fairly often; those two partners work well with where I’m located and Hyatt has extremely good point redemption options.

A slightly better offer for 80,000 was available around this time last year, but we think this 75,000 point offer is worthwhile as well, especially when considering that we haven’t seen any other offers better than this one for the past 11-months.

Flying Blue is the combined points program of KLM and Air France. At the start of each month they discount select routes. This time KLM has round-trip flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Amsterdam or Paris (AMS, CDG) for 30,000 points + $200-$250 tax/fees, NONSTOP or with a connection. Fare allows for carry-on bag and seat selection. Promotional ends at the end of this month. Most flights are in May and also between July and October. Promo awards are refundable (with a €50 Euro fee) and changeable (with a €50 Euro fee + fare price difference).

It’s a good idea to check the Flying Blue promo landing page at the start of each month to see if anything worthwhile pops up.

Leave the departure date blank to pull up a fare calendar. If you enter in dates, it will give you only a week-long list of fares near the dates you selected.

Flying Blue is a points transfer partner with all the major point programs including Chase Ultimate Rewards and AMEX Membership Rewards®. If you don’t already have a card that allows for point transfers, you should probably get one to make use of these types of deals. The point transfer perk isn’t available on all cards.

Last Update: EXPIRED DEAL – This deal has expired. The welcome offer has reverted back to 85,000. We are leaving the expired details in this post so we can compare future offers to this expired one. All links in this page are disable.

The welcome offer for the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card has increased from 85,000 to 155,000 Marriott Bonvoy® Bonus Points. The welcome offer applies after spending $5,000 in the first 6-months of being approved for the card. ‡ See Rates and Fees; terms apply.

This is the best offer we’ve seen for this card. We only recommend getting this card if you are already a Marriott loyalist as the $250 annual fee will be hard to justify unless you are consistently earning 6x and 1000 points per stay.

United has round-trip flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Sydney or Melbourne (SYD, MEL) for 71,000-75,000 miles/points, + $104 tax/fees NONSTOP. 36k-37.5k miles/points each way. Regular economy, not basic. Fare allows for carry-on bag and seat selection. Flights in February and March.

Booking flights with miles/points is worthwhile when the cost of airfare is high.

The best way to put together a round-trip itinerary with United points would be to look at both one-way calendars and then write down the available dates that have the lowest point redemptions, then plug those dates into a separate round-trip search to book. See links to calendar provided on our webpage. A laptop or a real computer will be easier to search with than a phone browser, this is because the United mobile calendar sucks, it removes fare details when the displaying the calendar.

The welcome bonus for the United Business Card is now 100,000 MileagePlus after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of being approved for the card. This card has an annual fee of $99.

This is a business card, but you can apply for this card as a sole proprietor. If this is the case for you, then use your personal social security number when applying instead of your Business EIN. If you don’t have a DBA, use your real name as the business name.

We’re recommending this card now because the 100,000 bonus is much higher than the previous 50,000 and 75,000 mile offerings that we’ve seen over the past 12-months.

Chase has increased the sign-up bonus for the United℠ Explorer Card. It is now a 60,000 point bonus instead of 50,000. The bonus offer applies after spending $3,000 in the first 3-months of being approved for the card. This card has an annual fee of: $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $95. We recommend this card for those of you who fly United because your first standard checked-bag for you and your companion is free, you get priority boarding, two United Club passes per year, and you get a 25% discount on inflight purchases on United-operated flights.

The checked-bag perk will probably be the main draw for those of you who fly on the cheaper “Basic Economy” fares on United. Basic Economy fares on United don’t include a free checked-bag and this perk can save you from paying additional bag fees.

The Amazon Prime Visa Card has a new $200 gift card welcome-offer for existing Prime members. This offer is the best that we’ve seen for this no-annual-fee card.

We’re highlighting this card due to several reasons: the 5% cash-back on Chase Travel, Amazon, and Whole Foods purchases is really good, the $200 Amazon gift card welcome-offer is the best we’ve seen for this card, the 2% cash-back on restaurants, gas stations, and local transit is also an added bonus, and to top it off there is no-annual-fee.

The catch is that the $200 gift card welcome-offer is only for existing Amazon Prime members.
